The first thing you should do when you get to town is pick up a free Breckenridge Dining Guide from a news rack. This often shows menus, hours, happy hour specials, etc. If going during off-season, expect closures as well as some restaurants offering additional happy hour specials.
Clint’s Coffee Shop and Ice Cream
I highly recommend Clint’s on Main Street. We went every day in October and May for coffee and hot chocolate. I liked the pumpkin cocoa. They have all sorts of flavors and their Little Man Ice Cream is very popular too. They also offer a variety of baked goods. Downstairs you can get breakfast or lunch. Pro tip: Grab a drink to go and sit down by the river.

Tin Plate Pizza
This place was cute. It’s in an old mining cabin. The pizza crust is made with sourdough. Service was good too. I recommend this place for a different type of pizza. This one is located two blocks off Main Street on Ridge Street. Pizzas start at $21.

Breckenridge Distillery and Restaurant
This is the one on Airport Road a few miles outside town. The one in town doesn’t serve food. They offer shuttle service and you can also take the free Breckenridge bus, but we ended up going there spur of the moment after walking along the Blue River Rec Path. It features a big dog-friendly patio. If you want to do tastings of the vodka, gin, bourbon, whiskey, etc., you will need to do that inside at the counter not in the restaurant. They also offer distillery tours. I ordered a Romaine and Gem Salad ($12). It was delicious and they didn’t skimp on the croutons. Chris had ribs ($14) which he liked, but said they were spicy. He had a whiskey and I had a Sicilian Summer cocktail ($16) which featured their gin, sea salt, sparkling lemonade and strawberry. It was refreshing. A couple of notes – the lunch menu is somewhat limited. They serve spirits that they make there. No beer or wine is served.

Horseshoe Tavern
This one is also located on Main Street. It has a dog-friendly patio upstairs. The inside is cute too. I had a smashburger. I didn’t like it, but others’ food looked good. The next table over had a delicious pina colada. It’s a bit expensive, I’d recommend going during happy hour.

Kenosha Breck
Also located on Main Street, they have great happy hour specials. The corn elote dip is very good. They also have a nice three level patio. It’s very dog-friendly and they even have a dog-friendly menu. We ordered Ellie a side of bacon. $2 for 3 slices. For the next two days, Ellie would pull us toward the restaurant when we would walk by. But going during happy hour we had a bunch of food and some beer for a fraction of just a burger and a beer at other restaurants.

Quandary Grille
This is located in Main Street Station near Maggie Pond. I liked the atmosphere of this place as it has nice lake views. It never seems very crowded. I had a good chili and salad.

Piante Pizza
This pizza place is located off Main Street in the mall across from Main Street Station. Pizzas start at $17 and are OK. They are known for their garlic knots ($10) and those were very good.
Canteen
This restaurant is located on Main Street. They have good happy hour specials. During happy hour, they had affordable food specials like a $10 burger as well as $4 drafts. The patio is dog-friendly.

I Scream for Gelato
Located on Main Street as well. We visited in October. Grab a coupon from the Where in Breckenridge Book. It was OK. I thought it was expensive for what it was and the tables weren’t cleaned. I don’t know if it has improved as we didn’t visit in May.
Of course, there’s a Starbucks in town if you need to get your fix. I’d like to try Luigi’s Pizza and Fatty’s Pizza next time I’m in town as well as the Soupz On. They do have fine dining and fast casual as well as grab and go from a crepes stand. With cuisine for everyone, you shouldn’t go hungry.
Where to Pick Up Groceries in Breckenridge
If you want to get some supplies or plan to do some of your own cooking, there are several options.
City Market off Park Street in town. This is a Kroger store. They have all the regular grocery store stuff. Price are fair. I didn’t find cookies from the bakery to be all that fresh, but the Italian bread I had was delicious. In the same strip center is a liquor store with a great selection of wine and beer.
In Frisco, you will find a Whole Foods, Natural Grocers, Safeway and Walmart. I haven’t visited Whole Foods or Natural Grocers. At Safeway, I thought the prices were high and the quality a bit subpar especially for the baked goods. The Walmart doesn’t carry fresh items and frozen items are limited (i.e. not all frozen pizza brands.) The store is dark, crowded, and not well laid out. I’d personally skip this one unless you really need something.
