Budapest Airport Lounge Review (Terminal 2B)

I visited one of the lounges in Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport (Terminal 2B) and spent about an hour there before my flight. Unfortunately, this one didn’t leave a positive impression.

First Impressions

The lounge is on the smaller side and felt crowded almost immediately. Seating is limited, and even after checking in (which was quick and easy), finding a comfortable place to sit took a bit of effort. The space itself feels tight, and overall, not particularly inviting if you’re hoping to relax or get work done before your flight. They do check store carry-ons upon check-in so that frees up some space, but even so the lounge was small.

Food & Beverage

The food selection was underwhelming. There was some variety, but nothing that really stood out, and I ended up skipping food entirely here. There was a coffee machine and basic beverage options, but again—nothing memorable. They did have Kosher offerings upon request. One thing to note is that alcohol isn’t served until 10 a.m.

Amenities & Comfort

This is where the lounge really falls short.

  • The bathroom was quite dirty and small, which noticeably impacted the experience
  • Very limited plugs for charging devices
  • Not an ideal setup for working or spending extended time

Location & Access

The lounge is located in Terminal 2B after security, and you do need to go up an elevator to access it. The location itself is convenient enough, but nothing about it makes it worth arriving early for. In fact, you’re probably just as well off waiting at your gate or checking out what amenities the airport has to offer.

Service

No issues with entry. The check-in process was smooth and efficient. The gentleman who checked us in was very friendly and helpful.

Final Thoughts

This is a lounge that technically checks the box but doesn’t do any more than that. If you have access, it can be a place to sit and recharge (if you can find a plug), but I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit. There’s nothing here that elevates the pre-flight experience.

Overall Score: 13/30

Breakdown:

  • Food & Beverage: 2/5
  • Cleanliness/Maintenance: 1/5
  • Work Connectivity: 1/5
  • Staff/Service: 4/5
  • Access/Location: 4/5
  • Amenities/Extras: 1/5

Would I return?

Unlikely. Budapest is an incredible city, but this airport lounge doesn’t match the experience.
