What a beautiful property. We visited Boston and the Northeast for Thanksgiving and stayed in Boston on two separate occasions. Both stays were at the Omni Boston at the Seaport and both were wonderful.
We arrived on Thanksgiving morning after a redeye, which was not very pleasant. Because it was still very early, I think around 7 a.m., check-in was unavailable, however, the front desk clerk did let us know that we could pay to check in early. We were offered a discount as an Omni rewards member at $75. Well, I mean, I wasn’t thrilled about that. I also wanted to sleep, and so we agreed and received our keys. We made our way up to our room, and found out that we are in the Patron Tower. We had initially booked the Artist Tower. Upon opening the door, I was both shocked and delighted. The room was very large with a table, or as I call it, make up area at the entrance plus a large bedroom.
But what made this room truly outstanding was the bathroom. This bathroom was massive. It had a separate shower and tub and a separate toilet area. I’m not kidding when I say this bathroom may have been as big as most hotel rooms. There were windows throughout the bathroom and room.
We had a very nice nap before getting up to head to our Thanksgiving reservation at a restaurant in Back Bay. Because it was Thanksgiving not every restaurant and bar at the hotel was open so we didn’t get to fully experience everything that the hotel has to offer. However, later in the evening when we returned to the hotel because it was a massive rain storm in Boston and we didn’t want to do any more exploring, we made our way to The Sporting Club bar/restaurant in the hotel. As we were walking in, a couple tells us that it was the best food of their life. That really set the bar high. We grabbed a seat at the bar as a friendly bartender took our drink order. We decided that given that we’ve eaten earlier, we didn’t need a full meal, but we might like to have a snack. My husband ordered a salad and I ordered the charcuterie board. I’m still dreaming of that charcuterie board. It had a honeycomb, cheeses, grapes, all the typical stuff. The Gouda cheese was amazing. Honestly, it was better than the Thanksgiving dinner at the unmentioned restaurant. The Sporting Club was also the place to be because it was packed with many locals. I’m looking forward to returning on my next visit.
At the end of our trip, we returned to Boston and stayed at the Omni Seaport again. We were notified prior to our arrival that we had been upgraded from the Artist tower to the Patron tower. I thought this was very nice and am so appreciative to the hotel.
This time, we had a corner room which had great views of the harbor end of the city . It did not, however, have the massive bathroom, but that’s OK because the room was still lovely. We ended up having a drink at Kestra in the lobby, and that was fine.
All in all, I found the hotel to be clean, the staff to be friendly, and a nice location. I will admit that I was a bit skeptical about the Seaport location prior to arriving because we usually stay near near the Boston Public Garden. But even though I had never been to the Seaport area before, I really enjoyed it. It had all the restaurants and shops you could need and was close to the holiday market. I definitely would not hesitate to stay there again. It’s a short Uber ride to major areas of Boston or a short walk. We actually walked all the way up to the north end and around town throughout the next day.
Tip: Just book the Patron Tower. The rooms are bigger.
